I’m from Trinidad and Tobago where we have a very strong third space culture and after work socialising culture. We “waste time together”. We have a word for it: limin’. I miss it dearly!

Lovely! One thing that really gets me with Kuala Lumpur, where I'm living right now, is the total lack of third spaces. So, it feels like it's just my partner and me in a tiny echo chamber of our own. Fine once in a whole but unhealthy over the long run.

This article had me Googling "places to stay" in Logroño! We have the option to stay within the Schengen area for 3 months this autumn, I'm seriously thinking of taking it.

I fully get where you're coming from. I would definitely take that opportunity and if you do, let me know! We'll come over 😊

Any advice for a solo female traveller how best to take advantage of this tapas culture?

I'm sorry Ann I won't be much help on the solo part as I tend to travel with my husband or friends. To try the feel of a group based tapeo, you could always look if there are any food tours in whatever town you visit so you can go in a group
